I'm Back

I'm back to posting after a brief hiatus. I've had a rough time getting back on the horse so to speak after getting my tush kicked by that virus a couple of months ago. It's as if all my drive/stamina/energy were wiped away in one. But I'm slowly but surely trying to work my way back up to 5 mile runs as my regular daily mileage.
My main motivation is that I am helping to train two marathon teams this summer. About a month ago the organizer of the marathon group I trained with last summer asked me to be a pace group coach this summer. I could not have been more thrilled. It seems like a great opportunity to get some slower runners out on the roads and to start learning how to plan/coach/mentor people. I'm also helping with the group from work. Since the Express-News is a sponsor of the San Antonio Rock N Roll Marathon and our publisher is the honorary chairman, we're hoping to have a great showing at the marathon this year. So a small group of us is in charge of putting together the team. It seems like a pretty big task though, since none of us are qualified marathon coaches. But I'm looking at this as putting together a lesson plan. For a 24 week lesson.

So for now I'm slowly getting back to pounding the pavement. Wish me luck!

Oh. Before I forget I found this cool/inspiring story!
